Why Cavelle
Riding kit is expensive, outgrown quickly, and almost impossible to sell on a marketplace that thinks a dressage saddle is a chair.
Built for one sport
General marketplaces treat equestrian gear as a curiosity. A saddle gets listed under furniture, a bridle under leather goods, and the fields that actually decide whether something fits you — seat size, tree width, girth length — do not exist, so they end up buried in a paragraph of description that nobody can filter on.
Cavelle only does one thing. Every category on it was written for horses and the people who ride them, which means the form a seller fills in already asks the questions a buyer was going to have to ask anyway.
Fit is the whole problem
Almost every returned piece of riding kit comes back for the same reason: it did not fit the rider, or it did not fit the horse. That is not a photography problem and better pictures will not solve it.
So sizes are structured, not typed into a description. Boots carry a size, rugs carry a length in centimetres, helmets carry a head circumference, saddles carry a seat size. You can filter on them, and what you filter on is the same field the seller filled in.
One account, both sides
There is no separate seller account, no upgrade and no application. The tack room clear-out and the search for a winter rug happen from the same profile, because in this sport they are the same person a month apart.

Kit outlasts its first owner
Good equestrian equipment is built to survive years of weather and work, and most of it is retired long before it is worn out — a child grows, a horse changes shape, a rider changes discipline. The gear is fine. It is just in the wrong tack room.
Every listing that finds a second owner is one less thing manufactured and one less thing thrown away. That is not the reason to use Cavelle, but it is a good side effect of the reason.
What Cavelle does not do yet
Being clear about this is cheaper than disappointing you later. Cavelle is early, and these are not built:
- No payments. You agree a price here and settle it between yourselves.
- No shipping or courier booking. Delivery is arranged directly with the seller.
- No buyer protection or escrow, which is exactly why the safety notes on How it works are worth reading.
- No reviews yet — they arrive with transactions, because a review that is not tied to a real sale is worth nothing.
